First seen in our Qalb Collection, SEMA takes its shape from the obi — a wide, softly structured front panel that sits flat at the waist and narrows through hand-folded pleats into long wrap ties. Its name comes from the sema, the turning ceremony of Istanbul's whirling dervishes: a belt made to hold a silhouette still while everything around it moves.
Wrap it twice, pass one tie through the discreet slot on the panel, and knot it at the front or side. It gives shape to a flowing abaya, a jersey dress or an open jacket without asking anything of the fit beneath.
